Abiud's journey was one of determination and sacrifice. From Kenya to California and eventually New York, he worked hard to provide for and support his family. His life reflected courage, perseverance, and the ability to embrace new beginnings.

Those who knew Abiud can testify that he was a person who left a lasting impact wherever he went. He remained committed to his family and to those around him, always carrying a strong sense of responsibility and care for the people he loved.

As a family, we fondly referred to him as "Sakis," a name he gladly embraced because of his love for music. Music was an important part of who he was.

Abiud also had a remarkable thirst for knowledge. If the topic was history, you could not easily outshine him. He had a deep knowledge of historical subjects and enjoyed sharing what he knew.

Abiud was a man who lived life on his own terms. He charted his own path, unapologetically and without always worrying about what others thought. He was never one to simply follow the crowd. He believed that life was what you made of it, and he lived according to his own convictions. He spoke his mind, stood by what he believed, and was never overly concerned with being politically correct. That was Abiud—authentic, independent, and unapologetically himself.

His warmth made people feel at home. He was generous to a fault. He gave not because he had an abundance, but because giving was simply who he was. His love was not loud or showy, and he never kept score nor expected anything in return.

Through his actions, Abiud taught us that true strength is measured by the relationships we build and the lives we touch. His greatest legacy is the love, kindness, generosity, and wisdom he shared with others.

Although words cannot fully capture Abiud's life, his presence among us mattered. His life was woven into the lives of his family, friends, and community. His absence will be deeply felt, but the love and memories he gave us will remain in our hearts. We are forever grateful for the time we were blessed to spend with you.

Baba, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith.
